S. 2938, the “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act,” is the firearms bill Congress passed, the President signed, and is now in effect. The firearms provisions that affect pawnbrokers who are Federal Firearms Licensees are in Section 3, Division A, Title II of S. 2938. Other firearms bills were recently passed by the House, but the Senate has not voted on any of them, and Team GRC has no information on whether or when they will.

With much recent discussion about numerous “gun bills,” it is easy to be confused as to what is or is not in this legislation. However, as S. 2938 is the only one signed into law, here are the bill highlights that:
