NPA’s GRC told you on December 5, 2024 that a federal court in Texas had enjoined FinCEN from enforcing its Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting regulation on a nationwide basis.

On December 23rd, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit stayed the injunction pending an appeal by the federal government. The Court’s action reinstated the original deadline to file, which was at midnight January 1, 2025.

FinCEN responded, fortunately, by extending the reporting deadline to January 13, 2025.

Whew! Now you won’t have to leave your business during this busy season to finish or file your BOIR report!
