Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association Wins Permanent Injunction Against Hotel Gold Buyers
On June 10, 2026, the Chancery Court of Jackson County issued a permanent injunction against Premier Gold & Coin, barring the operation from buying gold and precious metals out of a hotel in Jackson County, Mississippi. The case was brought by the Mississippi Pawnbrokers Association after the business was found to be operating in violation of state law requiring a permanent place of business.
The court agreed. The injunction is permanent.
Licensed pawnbrokers follow the rules every single day. Transactions are reported. Holding periods are honored. Records are kept. This case is a reminder that those standards exist for a reason and that the industry will fight to protect them.
