September 16, 2026 – The National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA) is proud to announce it has awarded scholarships to five outstanding students through its Future Business Leaders Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are presented annually to children or grandchildren of NPA pawnbroker members who demonstrate academic excellence.

“Investing in the next generation remains a top priority for the NPA,” said Kristen Williams, NPA Executive Director. “We are proud to support these five students as they pursue their higher education. Their drive in the classroom and dedication to their communities reflect the core values of our industry.”

The recipients of the 2026–2027 NPA Future Business Leaders Scholarship are:

  • Maxwell Greene
  • Senator Greene
  • Emily Keefe
  • William “Seth” Schmucker
  • Julia Whitaker

The NPA Young Professionals Committee reviewed applications from a competitive pool of candidates across the country. Selection criteria included academic performance, extracurricular involvement, community service, and a personal essay outlining the applicant’s career goals and the role education plays in achieving them.

“This year’s applicant pool was exceptional, and these five students stood out for their hard work and character,” said Randi Butterfield, NPA Young Professionals Committee Chair. “Their academic track records and community involvement set a high standard, and we look forward to seeing the impact they make in the years ahead.”
